Illegal entry

4 March, 08

Although it is completely unrelated to food, agriculture, and hunger – or is it? I do not know at the moment. Either way, it is disturbing none the less. Our president, Mr. Bush, has now declared his support for the illegal military entry of Colombia into Ecuador and the killing of a number of people. My best guess is that Mr. Bush feels deeply inclined to support the Colombians due to two facts: 1) In short, lots of US dollars go to Colombia to fight (yes, that is how I ended it – it could be to fight drugs or terrorists or liberals trying to save the rain forest, end it how you want); 2) The US illegally entered and is occupying Iraq, just to kill some people too. It would not surprise me if Mr. Bush also did so to inflame tensions with Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez. It would not shock me if next we saw Colombia invading Venezuela with the support of the US to “Secure oil reserves for the Americas”.

I do not know why – oh, yes I do. . . It is my morals, ethics and beliefs that cause me surprise whenever I hear of a political leader, especially one touting beliefs of the Christian Right, to promote violence and the death of other human beings.

I could go on, just look at what is going on in Lebanon and Israel currently. Ok, so I will not go on any longer. I just had to share my frustration and anger.
